Jump to1. Educational content, not advice
1Educational content, not advice
1.1 What our cases are. Our cases look at real business decisions to help you build judgment. They are educational commentary and our own analysis, written with hindsight and shortened to fit a daily read. They are not a full account of any company, person or event.
1.2 Not professional advice. Nothing on the Service is investment, financial, legal, tax, accounting or other professional advice. We do not know or consider your objectives, financial situation or needs. Before you act on something you read on Graymatter, get advice that fits your own situation from a qualified professional.
1.3 Not a recommendation to invest. When a case discusses a listed company, its share price, valuation or results, it does so to explain a business decision. It is not an offer, solicitation or recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security or other investment. Graymatter does not hold a licence to give financial advice or deal in securities.
2.4 Your decisions are yours. You are responsible for the decisions you make and for how you use what you learn from the Service.
2Accuracy and sources
2.1 Where our facts come from. We research each case from public sources we believe are reliable, such as company filings, earnings calls, interviews and news reports, and we cite them where we can. We have no inside information about the companies we write about.
2.2 Figures, charts and timelines. Figures may be rounded, estimated, converted between currencies or taken from a single source. Charts and timelines simplify events to make a point and may leave out detail.
2.3 As at the date we publish. Each case reflects what was publicly known on the day it was published. We do not update older cases as events move on, so a case may be out of date by the time you read it.
2.4 Mistakes. Despite our care, Our Content may contain errors. Subject to clause 7.1 of our Terms of Service, we do not promise that it is complete, accurate or up to date. If you spot a mistake, tell us at support@graymatter.dev and we will correct it where we agree.
3Companies, people and trademarks
3.1 No affiliation or endorsement. We write about companies and people independently. We are not affiliated with them, and they have not reviewed, approved or endorsed our cases or Graymatter unless we say so.
3.2 Our reading of a decision. When we describe what a leader was weighing, what a company might have done instead or what a decision teaches, that is our interpretation. It is not a statement by the company or person. Direct quotes are attributed to their source.
3.3 Names, logos and trademarks. Company names, brands, logos and trademarks shown on the Service belong to their owners. We use them only to identify the companies we write about, or the companies where our readers work. Showing them does not mean those companies endorse or partner with Graymatter.
4Exercises and results
4.1 Self-checks are for reflection. Questions such as "what would you have done", self-checks and scores are there to help you think a decision through. They are not a test of your ability, a qualification or a prediction of how you will perform.
4.2 No promised results. We do not promise that reading Graymatter will improve your decisions, your career or your business. How a lesson applies depends on your role, company, market, timing and many other factors.
4.3 What readers say. Quotes from readers reflect their own experience. They are not a typical result, and your experience may differ.
5AI tools, links and sponsorships
5.1 AI-assisted content. We may use software, including AI tools, to help research, draft or check Our Content. This can introduce errors like any other step in our work, so check anything important before you rely on it.
5.2 Links to other websites. Our Content links to sources and other websites that we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.
5.3 Sponsorships and affiliate links. If a case is sponsored, or a link in it earns us a commission, we will say so clearly in that case. Payment does not change our analysis or conclusions.
